This tapestry was hand woven by Marjorie Pohlman in 1979. 

The memorial tapestry is woven of yarn imported from Sweden.  It took Marjorie Pohlman 2 years to weave it at a cost of $3,000.  Donated to the church by LaVon and Harry Hanson, the tapestry illustrates the history of the church and community, beginning with the Swedish immigrants coming by sailboat, the first church, the Civil War, the new church being struck by lightning and burning to the ground, electricity, trains and autos being introduced and showing expansion to the Twin Cities.  The church in Center City remains the focus in the Chisago Lake community.
