September 12th, 2010 Worship Services 8:00 –9:45 am Traditional worship 11:00 am—Current worship Christian Education Classes 10:30am— Teachers meet students in classroom for introduction time Teacher Installation - 9:45am & 11:00am Worship Service Backpack Blessing 11:00am Worship Service Potluck Picnic & Carnival 12:00noon Bring a Salad or Dessert to share. Everything else—chicken, cob corn, drink and paper products will be provided. We suggest you also bring lawn chairs. Suggested Donation: $20 per family
September 18th from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Price sheets are on the bulletin boards. Bring your old computers, monitors, refrigerators, microwaves, fluorescent light bulbs, car batteries, tires, stereos, VCR‘s, DVD‘s, scanners, printers and more to the church lower parking lot. For a fee, Chisago Metal recycling will take your items. The Church will receive 40% to go towards the general fund. This is open to all residents in Chisago County. Church in Scandia Ticket costs are: For ages 12 and older $7.50 in advance or $8.50 at the door For ages 3-11 $3.00 Under age 3 Free Family Rate (2 Adults, 3 or more children) $20.00 Proceeds benefit the landscaping at “The Cottages,” a new Memory Care Facility at Parmly LifePointes Tickets may be purchased at Elim Lutheran and Security State Bank of Marine in Scandia, Central Bank in Center City, The RiverBank-MN and Parmly LifePointes in Chisago City, Security State Bank of Marine and Wally Carlson and Sons BP in Lindstrom and various area churches (ask in your church office) Scandinavian Auction tickets are 50 cents each or 5 for $2.00 and are only available at the Spaghetti Supper. Some Auction items will be designated for a more “traditional” Silent Auction. You need not be present to win. Mark this date on your calendar and come join the fun! If you have Scandinavian auction items to donate or any other questions please contact Kathleen Manning, Community Events at Parmly LifePointes, 651-257-7958 W/ELCA 2010 North Cluster Gathering October 2nd, 2010 Spring Lake Lutheran Church Registration and program at 9:00 a.m. It will be a chance to hear a great bible study, learn more about leading a greener way of life from Paul Dennison and enjoy fellowship together. Our offering will go to St. Paul Area Synod Women’s Organization and the Refuge for Battered Women, Chisago County. We will also be collecting material offering of personal hygiene products for women that will be donated to the local food shelves. The church is located between North Branch and Cambridge on Hwy. 95. Come and join us as we gather together to share our mission in this community and beyond. A new cookbook, with our members best recipes and a brief history of each! Please consider joining the Cookbook Committee. We will have our first meeting on September 14th at 1:30 p.m. at church. The high quality products are reasonably priced and available individually or as gift sets.A number of pieces will be on-hand for purchase, or you may order from the catalog through the church office. Summer is in full swing and the Church Bazaar is probably the furthest thing from your mind. It will be here before you know it! Get those hands moving and brains thinking of what you might like to make and donate to the Church Bazaar to be held on Saturday, December 4th, from 9:00 - 3:00 pm. We need crafters, bakers and people with green thumbs! So start knitting, crocheting, carving, planting or working on your special talent. Our bazaar is one of the largest fundraisers for our church and everyone has an opportunity to participate. Bazaar Committee meeting will be held Monday, September 13th at 3:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
